Column A is the band bio we submitted for RockQuest ...
Column B is elaborative ...

Who knew that a little jam in the music room would lead to our very own band? We didn't.  But here we are - All Day Hyper Drive from Dio. Being smokefree, we're an unstoppable force, of course!

Entered Talent Quest 2003
Never knew what an experience that would be

With a firm grip on our faith, and a mutual desire to send out a positive message, we decided that Rock Quest would be our next big goal.
We fill our songs with heart and soul.
Sure there are times when we battle, alright?
But who ever said that families don't fight?

With our stomachs tying themselves in knots,
We knew we'd give it our best shot
Lo and behold! We got through
So now here is our bio for you.
Our style is just one big mix
Of swing and rock and other tricks
We do some punk, some reggae, pop
And that's enough so now I'll stop
With Holly on vocals, setting the scene
And Lydia Reid the drumming machine
Hannah on guitar strumming the strings
And Robbie doing little keyboard things
We're All Day Hyper Drive hear us roar
We'll get the crowd coming back for more.

And here's a bit more detail on the subject...

It all began with Hannah and Lydia having a jam along to POD 'Alive' (thanks, POD ... we owe ya one!).  Soon after, we decided to establish our band.
After winning $70 in our school talent quest, we decided to start taking band a little more seriously.  Robbie opened a band account, so that we could start collaborating money for band-like-things.  We began to get invitations to play at youth services and church meetings.
In term 3, we met up with Peter Skandera, and decided to record a small demo - two covers that we enjoyed playing.  We decided to aim for RockQuest 2004, and we began practising our only two original songs in February.  We worked hard and long until the big day arrived.
We weren't really expecting to get through the heats, but it was exciting when we did.  This took our band-awareness to a whole new level.
About a week before the RockQuest finals, we organised a concert at our school, which was a huge success.
Consequently, we had a huge moshpit of supporters on the night, including the infamous NLP Pilot, who were the best moshers of all :)
Holly won the Stage Image award, and we all scored the Best Original Song award, which was a huge buzz, and added $200 to our account.
Our next task was the 2004 Talent Quest at school.  Admittedly, we did very little preparation, being pretty worn out after all the work and energy put into RockQuest, but we entered anyway .... and won (?/!).
Now we're back into recording, and beginning to work hard on some new songs.  Thankyou and goodnight.
